Uitwisseling

Helleu!

Zoals we al eerder hebben gezegd, is dit een uitwisseling. Dat betekent dat wij natuurlijk ook een uitwisselingspartner hebben. Wij gaan eerst 5 weken daarheen, en als wij weer naar huis gaan dan komen hun mee een maand hierheen. De uitwisselingspartner van Myrna heet: Divija Mohan en die van Anne: Angshu Natarajan. We hebben al veel met ze gemaild en ge-msn't en ook als voorbereiding al een paar vragen gesteld, want ja vragen hebben we natuurlijk genoeg.

Vragen aan Divija:

Do we get to see something of the surrounding towns and can we go by ourselves sometimes?
Yes you can...But there aren't anny towns nearby....

Our teacher said there was an elephant reservoir near, can we go there and see them? Yes but it will take LOOOONNNGG time to go there...we can go on weekends..

Will we get the opportunity to go shopping and are there any shopping centres near?
No but there are shops near by with tibetan stuff etc...we'll see about clothes ;)
 
What do you do in your weekends?
shop,shop,shop,play games, and night time activities with friends

What kind of food do you have at school?
standard, sometimes pretty good , and what's your favorite food- pav bhaji!!! and i have tasted dutch food and i <3 it!!?

From what time to what time do you have lessons? 
usually 8 ish to 4:30ish if you have extra curricular actvities...

Are you able to drink the water from the sink or do you have bottles?
We can drink from sinks but also we have a water tank

What kind of fruit do you have mostly? in bombay-
strawberries and alphonso mangoes btu here we get different fruits including passion fruit (its the lion king thing)

Do you have icecream? 
(I luuvvvv Icecream!) We have goooooodd icecream here..i love icecream too!!!!!!escpecially anything with CHOCOLATe.i don't mind butterscotch

Do you have a mobile phone? 
Yes i do..The number is 0091-9198-799-079...

Will we be able you use our bankcard, 'pinpas' in Dutch?
Yes but only with our atm..(there is only one atm here:( ) the shops here use only cash though...

What about the laundry? 
We have a dhobi man who brings a list which we have to fill out while giving our dhobi..ill explain about the dhobi when you get here...

Do you have in-between-hours?  
Yes when our teacher isn't there we may have free period or study hall...(when we go study or roam around somewhere else :P)

 Vragen aan Angshu:

Do you have to wear a uniform in school and if do we have to wear it to?
No we don’t have any uniforms in school, so you don’t have to wear it.

What about clothing, are we alowwed to wear shirts without sleeves?
No, we’re not aloud to wear anything sleeveless..

What's the weather when we'll be there?? Temperature etc
It will be rainy and a bit cold, but there will be sunny days too!!

Can you cycle? Because we have to cycle to school here.
I used to cycle, but I’m afraid I forgot how to.. We can rent cycles then and maybe you can teach me?

What kind of activities are we going to do when we're there?
In school, on friday and saturday nights we have movies, canteens and other activities

Our teacher said that there's an elephant reservoir nearby, are we going to go there?
The elephant reservoir is in Kerala. it's not exactly nearby, but if you want to, we can talk to Mr. Dedikind and arrange something.

Are we going to see something of the surroundings and towns?
At the moment, i don't know if there is a trip to any kind of place, but you, Myrna, Divija and I could go someplace together:)

Is there time to shop?
Yes there is time to shop. on weekends, that's mostly what i do :D

What type of money do you have?
our currency is "rupees".

Do you work, because I do and when you're here I will go to work if you dont mind.
I don't work and i don't mind if you work even when i'm there.

Is there something which is typical Dutch and you really want to have??
there is nothing that i want=)  but please tell me the things you like. and if you want something very indian, i have absolutely no problem getting it:) 

What kind of food and candy do you have?? And what do you like best? And in school?
In school we get all kinds of food...but to tell you the truth, it's not very tasty. You get many kinds of candy, i guess. In school, we don't exactly get candy:( but we can go out on weekends and buy loads:) i like spicy stuff the best. you??

Do we have spare time? And what do you often do in your spare time.
we get spare time after school and on the weekends. in sparetime, i listen to music, go for walks, read and that's all. what do you do??

At what times you finish and start school?
school starts at 8:00 and ends at 4:30. But if you have 9th and 10th period free, then you can leave at 3:00. on tuesdays school starts at 9:15 and ends at 3:15.

Can we drink the water from the sinks or do you drink it out of bottles?
You can't drink water out of the taps. we drink it out of bottles.  
 
What types of fruit do you have and do you like most?
We have all kinds of fruits in kodai. i like mangoes the best:)

Do you like ice cream?? =)
I LOVE ice cream:)

Do you have a mobile phone and if you have can I have your number.
I don't have a cell phone. but i might be getting one. so maybe i'll have one.

What subjects do you have in school? 
In school, we have English, math, social studies, science, physical education, drama, computers, life and teachings of jesus christ. there are more subjects but i don't take them.

What about the laundry?
There are people here who do our laundry. we give our dirty clothes to a laundry man and he does it. It's called a Dobi.
